Teacher Bio

My name is Hannah Qualls and I am thrilled to be teaching at IICS this year. I graduated from Northern Illinois University (NIU) in DeKalb, Illinois, United States of America where I earned a bachelor’s degree in K-12 Music Education. In addition to my time at NIU, I studied abroad for a year at Salzburg College in Salzburg, Austria. I taught for three years back in the States before coming to Istanbul.

While I enjoy music as a whole and playing many instruments, my primary instrument of study is the clarinet. My studies began shortly before my 11th birthday. A year later, I started learning the saxophone, and a year after that, I started learning the flute. I have been blessed to study with talented, inspiring and compassionate teachers throughout my education.

Outside of teaching and continuing my studies, I have many hobbies. I enjoy hiking, cross-stitching, baking, swimming, and exploring the world!

I look forward to working with the students at IICS this year and I am eager to learn about all the wonderful cultures that are a part of our community.
